titleOfInvention | Bifunctional molecule with antibody recruitment and entry inhibitory activity against human immunodeficiency virus |
abstract | The present invention relates to novel bifunctional compounds and methods of treating HIV infection. It provides a bifunctional small molecule, commonly called ARM-HI, to meet the need for new therapeutic strategies for HIV infection. The ARM-HI prevents cellular infection and the spread of HIV through the orthogonal pathway-inhibition of the interaction of gp120-CD4, and recruitment of anti-DNP antibodies to gp120 expressing cells. ARM-HI competitively binds CD4 to gp120 and gp-120 expressing cells, inhibits viral infection as shown in MT-2 cell analysis, recruits anti-DNP antibodies that bind to it to form a ternary complex, Antibodies present in this ternary complex promote complement-dependent destruction of gp120 expressing cells. Compounds and methods are described herein |
