| abstract |
A carbon crucible is provided which prevents the leakage of SiO gas from the boundary between the linear motion portion and the support portion and prevents the early progress of SiC formation. It is a carbon crucible 5 for holding a quartz crucible 4 used for a metal single crystal pulling apparatus such as silicon, and the linear motion portion 9 and the supporting portion 10 are divided. Between the quartz crucible 4 and the carbon crucible 5, graphite is formed so as to cover at least the boundary A between the linear motion portion 9 and the support part 10 of the inner surface of the carbon crucible 5.
