Water treatment methods and systems are disclosed that utilize treated water for cooling industrial processes. Water is treated and stored in large containers or artificial lagoon and has high transparency and high microbiological quality. The system of the present invention generally comprises container means such as a large container or artificial lagoon, adjustment means, chemical application means, mobile suction means, and filtration means. The adjusting means monitor and control the process to adjust the water quality parameters within specified limits. Large containers or artificial lagoons can act as heat sinks to absorb waste heat from industrial cooling processes, creating a thermal energy store in a sustainable manner that can then be used for other purposes. The method and system can be used in any industrial cooling system that can use any form of water, including freshwater, brackish water and seawater. |
