abstract The present invention relates to the use of Staufen1 protein in a host involved in influenza A virus proliferation. More particularly, the present invention relates to a composition for the prevention and treatment of infectious disease of type A influenza virus (IAV) comprising as an active ingredient a substance which interferes with the binding between the NS1 protein of influenza A virus and the Staufen1 protein of the host. The linker region between RBD3 and RBD4 of the Staufen1 protein according to the present invention is involved in the interaction of the Staufen1 of the host with the NS1 protein of the influenza A virus. Obstruction of the stomach interactions may be an important means of preventing the replication of influenza A virus and may thus be an important target for the development of antiviral agents. Therefore, the composition of the present invention can effectively inhibit the influenza A virus infection to prevent and treat the disease thereby.
