The present invention relates to the use of perfluorinated compounds as surface coatings to prevent fouling formation. The present invention also relates to a method of producing a surface coating that can prevent fouling formation, which comprises the step of applying a polar aqueous solution of the perfluorinated compound followed by a thermal cycling step at a controlled temperature. |
