The present invention relates to a composition for treating cancer or an antibacterial agent comprising a peptide or a derivative thereof isolated from a larva of a ladybug as an active ingredient. More specifically, the present invention relates to a peptide having any one of the amino acid sequences shown in SEQ ID NO: 3 or 4, a polynucleotide having a nucleotide sequence encoding the peptide, a pharmaceutical composition for antibacterial activity comprising the peptide as an active ingredient, 4 as an effective ingredient. The present invention also relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating cancer, which comprises a peptide having an amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 4. The ladybug larva-derived peptides and derivatives thereof of the present invention have antimicrobial activity and inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells through apoptosis. In addition, since there is no cytotoxicity, it is effective to prepare a pharmaceutical composition for antibacterial or cancer treatment. |
