abstract | The present invention relates to a hard coating for a cutting tool, wherein the hard coating is composed of a nano multilayer structure including a thin layer A, a thin layer B, a thin layer C and a thin layer D or a structure in which the nano multilayer structure is repeatedly laminated two or more times. The thin layer A is made of Ti 1 - x Al x N (0.5 ≦ x ≦ 0.7), and the thin layer B is made of Al 1- yz Ti y Cr z N (0.3 ≦ y ≦ 0.6, 0 < z ≦ 0.3). The thin layer C is made of MeN (Me is Nb or V), and the thin layer D is made of Al 1 -ab Ti a Si b N (0.3 ≦ a ≦ 0.7, 0 <b <0.1). According to the present invention, a composite nitride layer of Ti and Al having excellent abrasion resistance, a composite nitride layer of Al, Ti, Cr having excellent lubricity, a nitride layer of Nb or V having excellent toughness and chipping resistance, and Al, Ti having excellent oxidation resistance Through repeated lamination of the nano multilayer structure formed by sequentially stacking a composite nitride layer of Si, it is possible to evenly improve various characteristics required for hard coatings for cutting tools such as wear resistance, lubricity, toughness, chipping resistance, and oxidation resistance.
