abstract |
The method for the pulp treatment includes a low temperature caustic extraction step wherein the low temperature caustic solution used in this step and the liquid used to clean the extracted pulp are concentrated by a vapor system. Concentrated liquids are used as part of the neutralizing and cooking liquor in the pulp process and increase efficiency without a significant reduction in pulp quality. The highly concentrated filtrate from the cold extraction step reduces the redeposition of hemicellulose on the fibers during the cooking step. |
