| abstract | An oral care implement that dispenses fluid with a low profile pump includes a head, a reservoir for storing oral care fluid, at least one liquid outlet in the head, and a pump. The pump includes a flexible membrane that moves between alternating suction and discharge positions. The pump includes an inlet flap valve and an outlet flap valve that can be integrally formed as part of the membrane. In an exemplary embodiment, the valve is integrally formed in the membrane with a flexible cantilever tab that can move between the open and closed positions. In certain embodiments, the pump may be mounted to or form the head of the toothbrush. In certain embodiments, the pump may be disposed in the neck portion or handle portion of the toothbrush. |
