abstract |
An improved method of recovering the protein expressed by open reading frame 2 from porcine circovirus type 2 is presented. The method generally transfects a recombinant virus carrying an open reading frame 2 coding sequence into cells embedded in a growth medium, induces the virus to express open reading frame 2, and expresses the protein in the supernatant. Recovering the same. This recovery begins approximately 5 days after infection of these cells in order to ensure that a sufficient amount of recombinant protein is expressed and secreted from the cells into the growth medium. These methods avoid the costly and time consuming extraction procedures required to separate and recover recombinant proteins from cells. |
