A process for the preparation of 2,2-difluoroethylamine of formula (I) is disclosed comprising the following steps (i) and (ii): Step (i): 2,2-Difluoro-1-haloethane of formula (II) is preferably prop-2-ene-1 of formula (III) in the presence of an acid scavenger. Reacting with an amine to provide N- (2,2-difluoroethyl) prop-2-en-1-amine of formula (IV), and Step (ii): removing allyl groups from N- (2,2-difluoroethyl) prop-2-en-1-amine of formula (IV) obtained in step (i) above to formula (I) To obtain 2,2-difluoroethylamine or a salt thereof: In this formula, Hal is chlorine, bromine or iodine. |
