The present invention provides an optical base material having a high refractive index, particularly a plastic lens, in which a primer coating layer having excellent impact resistance, scratch resistance, adhesiveness, and high refractive index is applied to a material of a plastic lens without generating appearance defects such as nonuniformity and turbidity. It can form without being influenced and provides the primer composition for optical articles which has favorable storage stability. The primer composition for an optical article contains urethane resin, polyester resin, inorganic oxide fine particle, and water which have a skeleton derived from polycarbonate, and can contain a water-soluble organic solvent as needed. |
