titleOfInvention Scleral prosthesis and related devices and methods for treating presbyopia and other eye diseases
abstract Examples of scleral prostheses 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700 include first and second free ends 102-104, 202-204, 302-304, 402-404, 502-504. 602-604, 702-704, each end wider than the middle portion of the scleral prosthesis. The first plurality of portions 112a-112b, 208a-208b, 312a-312b, 406a-406b, 506a-506b, 606a-606b, 706a-706b form the first end of the scleral prosthesis. The first portion is separated along at least one half of the length of the scleral prosthesis. The second plurality of portions 206a-206b, 310a-310b may form a second end of the scleral prosthesis, and the second portion may be separated along less than one quarter of the length of the scleral prosthesis. Implant device 900 includes a first end 906 adapted to be inserted into the sclera tunnel in the sclera tissue of the eye. The implantation device also includes a second end 902 configured to receive the scleral prosthesis.
