titleOfInvention | Thermally expandable microcapsules, methods of making thermally expandable microcapsules, foamable master batches and foamed molded articles |
abstract | It is an object of the present invention to provide thermally expandable microcapsules that are excellent in heat resistance and durability and exhibit excellent foamability in a wide temperature range from low temperature to high temperature. The present invention provides a thermally expandable microcapsule containing a volatile liquid as a core in a shell containing a copolymer, wherein the copolymer is at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of nitrile group-containing acrylic monomers and amide group-containing acrylic monomers. It is obtained by polymerizing the monomer mixture containing A and at least 1 monomer B chosen from the group which consists of a carboxyl group-containing acrylic monomer and an ester group containing acrylic monomer, and the sum total of content of the said monomer A and the said monomer B is the said monomer mixture. It is 70 weight% or more in it, and the weight ratio of content of the said monomer A and the said monomer B is 5: 5-9: 1 thermally expansible microcapsules. |
