abstract |
The present invention relates to the production of alcohols by microbial fermentation, in particular to the production of alcohols by microbial fermentation of substrates comprising CO. More specifically, the present invention relates to a process for producing alcohol from the corresponding acid in the presence of a substrate comprising CO. In a specific embodiment, fermentation reactions that produce acids and optionally alcohols are perturbed such that one or more acids can be converted to alcohol. |
