titleOfInvention | Flame Retardant, Partly Aromatic Polyamide Molding Composition |
abstract | The present invention relates to flame resistant polyamide molding compositions based on semicrystalline polyamides. The polyamide molding composition is based on the following. (A) aliphatic or semi-aromatic, semicrystalline polyamide having at least one melting point (Tm) of 30 to 92% by weight in the range of 240 ° C to 340 ° C; (B) 0-50% by weight of one or more fillers and reinforcing agents; (C) 8-18% by weight of one or more halogen-free flame retardants; (D) 0-2.0% by weight of one or more barium carboxylates; (E) 0-5% by weight of one or more additives; Wherein the weight percentage of components (A) to (E) is 100% in total, provided that if the proportion of component (D) is in the range of 0 to 0.1% by weight, halogen-free flameproof of component (C) I am based on barium phosphinate. The invention also relates to the use of barium carboxylates in polyamide molding compositions using halogen-free flame retardants for the prevention of corrosive action during processing. The molding compositions comply with fire-protective class UL 94 V-0 and have no or only a slight degree of corrosive action for the mechanical components used in thermoplastic processing and exhibit good mechanical properties. They are particularly suitable for the manufacture of thin-walled moldings for the electrical and electronics industry, examples being housings, housing components, and connectors. |
