titleOfInvention Devices and methods for minimally invasive closure
abstract A device and method for minimally invasive closure are disclosed. One closure device for minimally invasive closure includes a proximal portion, a distal end, and an intermediate portion therebetween. The device includes a suture head assembly that includes a suture needle having a pointed end and a second end. The suture needle can rotate about an axis that is nearly perpendicular to the long axis of the device, where the pointed end of the suture needle is advanced by a driver mechanism that includes a needle driver that engages the suture needle to rotate the needle. And, within the suture head assembly, until the guide set and arranged to guide the needle along the circular trajectory is deployed.
