Intraocular Bimatoprost Implant Reduces Intraocular Pressure |
abstract |
The present invention provides a method for treating ocular disease in a patient's eye, the method comprising disposing a biodegradable intraocular implant in the patient's eye, the implant being a prostamide (prostamide), and a biodegradable polymer matrix that releases the drug at a rate effective to sustain the release of a certain amount of prostamide from the implant to provide an effective amount of prostamide to prevent or reduce symptoms of eye disease in the eye. Wherein the ocular disease is elevated IOP, and the implant is disposed in an intracameral location such that the outflow channel of the eye exiting Schlemm's Canal is expanded. |
