abstract | PURPOSE: An antimicrobial suture thread for medical use with CAPE(Caffeic Acid Phenethyl Ester), pinocembrin and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to increase cleanliness and to prevent the fungus of a suture thread surface, which is the factor of secondary infection generated in a time of surgery, from being generated. CONSTITUTION: An antimicrobial suture thread for medical use includes CAPE, which is the activity component of propolis, and pinocembrin. The suture thread has a monofilament shape. The suture thread is made of a biodegradable component. The biodegradable component is selected from a group of PGA (polyglycolic acid), PLA (polylactic acid), PLLA(poly (lactide-co-L-lactide), PGLA(poly (glycolide-co-L-lactide), PG (polyglycolide), PL (polylactide) and alloy thereof. |
