abstract The present invention uses a multistage distillation system to remove impurities to remove 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene components having a purity of 99wt% or more from the catalytic cracking gas which removes impurities such as sulfur and nitrogen through hydrogenation. Concentrate and increase the concentration of 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene in the cake that is separated into the solid phase by using a multi-step solvent crystallization method. A method for separating and purifying high purity 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene in an economical way without loss of yield.
