abstract |
A catalyst article comprising palladium and related manufacturing methods and uses are disclosed. A catalyst article comprising a first catalyst layer formed on a substrate and a second catalyst layer formed on a first catalyst layer comprising platinum and rhodium impregnated on a ceria-containing oxygen storage component, wherein the first catalyst layer is free of ceria. Palladium impregnated on the oxygen storage component and platinum impregnated on the refractory metal oxide. The palladium component of the catalyst article is present at a higher rate relative to other platinum group metal components. The catalyst article provides an improved conversion rate of carbon monoxide in the exhaust gas, especially under rich engine operating conditions. |
