Granulated monocalcium phosphate product with abrasive and lubricity additives |
abstract |
Granulated monocalcium phosphate compositions that provide sufficient nutritional value as well as improved pelletization advantages such as abrasiveness and lubricity compared to other granulated phosphate feed products. The granulated monocalcium phosphate composition comprises one or more additives such as lubricity and abrasive additives. The lubricity additive may include a sodium additive that lubricates the die during the feed grinding or pelleting process. The abrasive additive may include silica or sand that rubs the die during the pelletization process. The increased lubricity and abrasive properties of the compositions benefit die throughput and efficiency in pellet processing without compromising the nutritional value in the final feed product. |
