abstract | The present invention relates to a substrate pretreatment and processing method. The method comprises the steps of: (a) applying to a at least a portion of a substrate a cleaning liquid comprising at least an organic acid; (b) washing at least a portion of the cleaning liquid in a first washing step; (c) applying the chemical detergent composition to the portion of the substrate treated with step (b); (d) washing at least a portion of the substrate with the chemical cleaner composition of step (c) with a second cleaning step; And (e) depositing a pretreatment coating composition on at least a portion of the substrate treated with step (d). Further steps include (f) washing at least a portion of the substrate with the pretreatment coating composition in a third cleaning step; And (g) depositing a protective coating composition on the substrate treated with step (f). Additional methods are also disclosed that include similar steps in different arrangements. |
