titleOfInvention A medium recording a positron emission tomography apparatus and method using the Compton phenomenon and a computer readable program for executing the method
abstract Disclosed are a positron tomography apparatus, a method using a Compton phenomenon, and a medium on which a computer readable program for executing the method is recorded. A positron emission tomography apparatus using the Compton phenomenon includes a gamma ray detector, a detection order calculator, and a subject information generator. The gamma ray detector acquires the detection position of the two gamma rays and the detection energy at the detection position due to positron disappearance, and the detection order calculation unit detects a plurality of detection positions for any one of the two gamma rays. In this case, the detection order of the plurality of detection positions is calculated, and information about the inspected object is generated using information on the detection position of the gamma ray and the detection order of the detection position. By calculating the order for the detection of a plurality of gamma rays generated by Compton scattering using the detection position of the gamma rays emitted due to positron disappearance and the detection energy at the detection position, in the positron tomography, not only the photoelectric effect but also the Compton Effects can be used to realize better images.
