An object of this invention is to provide the liquid crystal display element which has a novel photoreactive liquid crystal aligning agent and the photo-alignment layer formed from this photoreactive liquid crystal aligning agent. This invention provides the photoreactive liquid crystal aligning agent containing the polymer represented by following General formula (1-1), the orientation layer formed from this photoreactive liquid crystal aligning agent, and the liquid crystal display element which has this photo-alignment layer. [In Formula (1-1), Y 1 and Y 2 represent an oxygen atom and the like. R < 2> and R < 4> represents a C1-C2 alkoxy group etc. p, q and r represent the mole fractions of the respective structural units with respect to the entire structural unit, and satisfy the relationship of 0.25 <p ≦ 1, 0 ≦ q <0.75 and 0 ≦ r <0.75.] |
