Embodiments of the present invention describe techniques for a content player that streams media files using multiple network connections. To stream a media file, the content player downloads metadata associated with the requested media file, establishes a network connection (or a single content server and multiple network connections or both) with multiple content servers, Initiate requests for parts. In response, the requested portions are sent to the content player. The content player may use a predictive majority connection scheduling approach to determine which network connection is used to download a given chunk. |
