abstract The present invention relates to a pichia stiphitis strain in which glucose receptor is inhibited and a bioethanol production method using the same, and more specifically, to the anti-sense of pichia stiphytis. It relates to a method for producing bioethanol comprising inhibiting the function of a high affinity glucose receptor gene. Improved of the Invention Pichia stiphitis confirmed that 60% inhibition of glucose consumption. The pichia stiphitis is effectively converted from xylose to bioethanol, and in the subsequent process, the produced excess glucose can be used to produce a high concentration of bioethanol very efficiently.
