abstract | The present invention relates to a lipid improving agent or health functional food for preventing and treating hyperlipidemia, which contains a fraction obtained by solvent fractionation from Caryophylli Flos ethanol extract as an active ingredient. Clove ethyl acetate fraction of the present invention was evaluated by using the in vitro activity evaluation system using the acyl co-acyl cholesterol acyl transferase enzyme as a bioassay system, ACAT (Acyl CoA; cholesterol acyltransferase) because ACAT enzyme inhibitory activity is very excellent It can be usefully used as a lipid improving agent for treating hyperlipidemia having an enzyme activity inhibitory effect and as a health functional food for improving lipids in hyperlipidemic patients. In addition, the lipid improving agent for treating hyperlipidemia having a lowering of LDL cholesterol containing clove aqueous fraction according to the present invention does not respond to dietary or lipid improving agents in primary hypercholesterolemia (type IIa & type IIb) caused by an increase in LDL cholesterol. In this case, it can be usefully used as a dietary supplement for improving lipids in secondary lipid improving agents and hyperlipidemic patients. |
