| abstract |
The main view stream, the sub view stream and the management information are recorded on the recording medium. The management information includes the system rate of each stream. Each stream is divided into a plurality of data blocks to form a plurality of extent blocks. In each extent block, the main view data block and the sub view data block are alternately arranged in succession. The maximum value of each size of the main b data block and the sub-view data block constituting one pair is determined by the following conditions. (Iii) the system rate of the sub-view stream, (ii) whether the pair is the first pair in the extent block, and (iii) whether there is a long jump area between the recording areas of two extent blocks that are subsequently read. |
