Styrene-acrylic dispersants for use in pigment dispersions have a lower viscosity than standard formulations such as nitrocellulose, dimer acid based polyamides, and thermoplastic polyurethanes prepared under other identical conditions. Low viscosity is similar to conventional dispersants to produce similar viscous dispersions and inks using styrene-acryl at (a) lower solvent levels, or if solvent levels should be maintained (b) at higher pigment and solids loadings.
