abstract The invention provides an Hg light source that transmits transmitted light having wavelengths of one or more spectral lines of mercury, a measuring cell in which the gas to be measured is present, an optical receiver, an evaluation unit and an inspection that can be introduced into the beam path to check operability. With a cuvette, it relates to a gas analyzer for measuring the mercury content of a gas. In order to provide an improved gas analyzer and corresponding improved calibration method which can be calibrated in a simple manner, an installation is made in which the test cuvettes contain benzene as the test gas.
