titleOfInvention Purification of single-wall carbon nanotubes
abstract PURPOSE: A method for refining single-walled carbon nanotubes is provided to maximize the usability of the single-walled carbon nanotubes and to improve the operational efficiency of the method by simultaneously implementing an impurity eliminating process and a carbon nanotube separating process. CONSTITUTION: Single-walled carbon nanotubes are mixed with a dispersing agent and a gelatable hydrophilic polymer. Metallic and semiconductively carbon nanotubes are separated and refined. The hydrophilic polymer is agarose, polyacrylamide, or the derivatives of the same. The dispersing agent is an anionic surfactant. The anionic surfactant includes sodium fatty acid, monoalkyl sulfate, alkyl poly oxyethylene sulfate. The anionic surfactant includes alkyl benzene sulfonate and monoalkyl phosphate.
