abstract |
The present invention relates to the differential diagnosis of West Nile virus and Japanese encephalitis virus, and more particularly, to a primer set specific for West Nile virus and Japanese encephalitis virus, and differential detection of West Nile virus and Japanese encephalitis virus comprising the primer set. It relates to a method for differential detection of West Nile virus and Japanese encephalitis virus comprising the step of performing RT-PCR using the composition and the primer set. The two viruses are similar viruses belonging to the genus Flavivirus, and once infected with humans and horses, clinical symptoms such as encephalitis and high fever are similar and require differential diagnosis. The present invention can be utilized for rapid diagnosis because the above two flaviviruses can be tested simultaneously in a single tube during laboratory diagnosis. |
