abstract The present invention relates to chitosan-spermine graft copolymers having improved transduction efficiency and gene therapy using them as gene carriers. The chitosan-spermine graft copolymers of the present invention not only exhibit high binding capacity to DNA, effectively protect DNA from nucleases, and form spherical uniform particle size complexes suitable for use as gene carriers, In vitro and in vivo, it shows very low cytotoxicity and the transfection efficiency is significantly improved compared to the existing non-viral gene carriers, which can be usefully used for gene therapy.
