Dye-sensitized solar cells, photoanodes thereof, and methods of making the same are disclosed. The photoanode of the dye-sensitized solar cell of the present invention is made of a porous semiconducting layer that absorbs two types of organosensitive dyes, which are represented by the following general formula (I): (I) In the above formula, D 1 , D 2 , R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4 , B, and n are as defined herein. Since these two types of organic sensitizers have comparable absorption peaks, the photoanode of the present invention can absorb the solar spectrum with a larger wavelength length range. Therefore, the dye-sensitized solar cell using the photoanode of the present invention has excellent photoelectric conversion efficiency. |
