titleOfInvention | Synthesis method of N? Alkyl carbazole and its derivatives |
abstract | Disclosed herein is a process for preparing N-alkyl carbazoles. The above process comprises: a) chlorination of cyclohexanone to form 2-chlorocyclohexanone; b) reacting 2-chlorocyclohexanone with N-ethyl aniline to form 2- (N-ethyl anilino) cyclohexanone; c) cyclizing 2- (N-ethyl anilino) cyclohexanone via a reflux process to remove water simultaneously to obtain 9-ethyl-tetrahydrocarbazole; d) treating 9-ethyl-tetrahydrocarbazole with concentrated hydrochloric acid followed by washing with water to remove N-ethyl aniline; e) heating 9-ethyltetrahydrocarbazole in a solvent with a catalyst to remove N-alkyl carbazole to remove hydrogen from the 9-ethyltetrahydrocarbazole. |
