abstract The present invention relates to a highly active double metal cyan salt (DMC) catalyst or a multi-metal cyan salt (MMC) catalyst, and more particularly, to a double metal cyan salt (DMC) using a lactate-based compound as a complexing agent. The catalyst according to the present invention is simpler to produce than the catalyst using tert-butyl alcohol (t-butyl alcohol) as a complexing agent, the amount of the organic complexing agent is less, and environmentally friendly. In addition, when the ring-opening polymerization of the epoxy monomer using this catalyst, the polymerization activation is very fast, so the induction time or induction period is short and the activity is very high. In addition, the prepared polyol has a low viscosity, excellent transparency, significantly high molecular weight, narrow molecular weight distribution, and unsaturation level or monool content.
