abstract | An analog-to-digital converter including at least one stage of analog-to-digital (AD) conversion stage for generating digital data having a value corresponding to the relationship between two input analog signals and outputting two analog residual signals is disclosed. The AD conversion stage includes a signal generation unit, a comparison unit, a first output unit, a second output unit, and a switching unit. The comparator is configured to generate first digital data when the voltage value of the first analog signal is lower than the voltage value of the second analog signal, and compares the first digital data with the voltage value of the first analog signal. In the case where a second comparison result higher than the voltage value is obtained for the second analog signal, the second digital data is output. |
