The present invention relates to non-aqueous dispersions of organic polymer particles in reactive diluents. The non-aqueous dispersion may be obtained by polymerizing at least one monomer in a reactive diluent to form organic polymer particles, wherein the reactive diluent is orthogonal reactivity to the monomer. Due to this does not participate in the polymerization reaction, but includes the functionality (functionality) to be possible later targeted polymerization (later targeted polymerization). Depending on the organic polymer particles or reactive diluents used, the non-aqueous dispersions can be used for multifaceted applications with various application profiles. In order to produce a non-aqueous dispersion, the polymerization of at least one monomer in a stirred tank reactor in the presence of a reactive diluent is particularly suitable, with a stirrer speed of at least 2 m / s. The conversion is carried out under conditions where the stirrer diameter is 0.3 to 0.80 relative to the vessel diameter and the distance from the vessel floor to the stirrer is 0.25 to 0.5 times the stirrer diameter. The present invention provides multifaceted advantageous applications, in particular as impact strength modifiers and adhesives, casting resins or paints in films. Particularly preferred applications are the preparation of molded parts or semi-finished polymer products of polymers. |
