Stabilized blends of polyesters and polyamides are disclosed. This polymer blend comprises: A) at least one lactone stabilizer, B) at least one di-hydrocarbyl hydrogen phosphonate or at least one di-hydrocarbyl hydrogen phosphonite or C) 2,2'-alkylidenebisphenol antioxidant Stabilized by at least one monoacrylate ester of. The blends of the present invention exhibit reduced color formation, high levels of whiteness / brightness and acceptable low haze formation upon heat treatment. The blends of the present invention are useful in the manufacture of bottles, containers and films for beverages, foods and cosmetics. Polyester is especially polyethylene terephthalate, PET and polyamide is especially polyamide-MXD6. Heat treatment is for example melt extrusion or solid state polymerization (SSP). |
