The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition and a dietary supplement for the prevention and treatment of forgetfulness or memory disorder-related diseases containing palm cactus extract. Extracts of palm cactus show excellent efficacy in improving learning and memory to a high level in passive avoidance tests using steady-state animals, enhancing ERK-CREB-BDNF signaling in hippocampus, and emerging neurons As it can increase survival, the extract is expected to be developed into a pharmaceutical composition or functional food useful for improving forgetfulness, learning and memory. |
