titleOfInvention Variable PET Unit
abstract The present invention relates to a Positron Emission Tomography (PET) device, and more particularly to a PET device capable of changing the diameter of the detection means according to the size of the subject. The PET device of the present invention includes a main body having an opening for accommodating a test subject therein, and detection means positioned to surround the received test subject in the circumferential direction of the opening. The detection means may detect radiation emitted from the subject under test. The PET device also includes drive means for driving the detection means. The detection means comprise a first group of detection heads arranged in the circumferential direction of the opening and a second group of detection heads respectively disposed between the first group of detection heads. The detection heads of the first group are movable in the radial direction of the detection means by the drive means.
