Halogenated aromatic polymers have from 2 to 100 monomer units each comprising an aromatic group substituted with at least one halide group, wherein at least one of the monomer units has formula (I): Formula 1 Wherein Ar 1 , Ar 2 and Ar 3 are the same as or different from each other, each being an aromatic group substituted with at least one halide group; A is selected from CO, CO 2 , CO 3 , S, SO 2 , a single bond and a C 1 to C 6 alkyl chain; B and C are the same or different from each other, each being selected from O, CO, CO 2 , CO 3 , S, SO 2 , single bond and C 1 to C 6 alkyl chain; y and z are each independently 0 or 1. |
