titleOfInvention Compositions and Methods for Increasing Water Tightly Bonded to Hair
abstract The present invention relates to a topical composition for moisturizing hair comprising a substance that emits electromagnetic radiation under a wavelength that affects tertiary structure in human hair (disulfide bond degradation) and causes a change in the secondary structure of the hair protein. The intensity of the electromagnetic radiation is controlled and sufficient to induce or drive changes in protein structure. The present invention also encompasses methods of using such topical compositions. The tests showed that the firmly bound water in the hair increased and there was no damage to the hair of the type characteristic of heat and chemical treatment.
