abstract | The present invention is directed to a method of assessing the effects of integrin inhibitors and small molecule ATP site directed multi kinase inhibitors on angiogenesis by the use of certain identified biomarkers. This method is particularly beneficial for measuring the efficacy of integrin inhibitors and small molecule ATP site directed multi kinase inhibitors mainly used in the treatment of angiogenic associated diseases such as cancer. In particular, the present invention relates to biomarkers that are preferably associated with angiogenesis that are accessible in body fluids and thus allow for the analysis of target adjustments in a non-invasive manner. Also disclosed is the use of such biomarkers for the screening of compounds with integrin inhibitory activity. |
