An anchor-in-anchor anchoring system is provided for securing an undercarriage such as a valley. The fixation system includes a first bone anchor having a shaft for securing to the lower bone and a head defining an internal bore. The second bone anchor extends through the bore into the lower bone. Also provided is a fixation assembly comprising one or more fixation systems coupled to an ancillary attachment member configured for iliac fixation, spinal fixation, or fixation of another bone as desired. |
