| abstract |
The present invention (a) forming at least one aqueous polymer dispersion primarily by a method comprising polymerizing a monomer mix comprising 5 to 50 weight percent of the at least one carboxylic acid functional monomer by weight of the monomer mix; (b) 1 to 10 parts by weight of at least one swelling agent based on 100 parts by weight of the monomer mix, and (ii) a component comprising at least one of a nonionic surfactant, anionic surfactant or a mixture thereof. Second addition to the polymer dispersion; (c) Thirdly, there is provided a method of forming an aqueous composition comprising adding a calcium cation or magnesium cation or mixture thereof to the aqueous polymer dispersion. |
