The present invention relates to biomass from algae growing autotrophically, heterotrophically or photodependently through algae through the use of plant growth regulators (such as growth hormones, indole acetic acid, etc.) and hormone analogs (phenoxyacetic acid compounds, etc.). Provides a way to enhance production. Plant growth regulators or the like may further increase the proportion of desirable value added products such as biodiesel or starch in algal culture or harvested biomass. |
