An object of the present invention is to provide silicon for an n-type solar cell containing aluminum. The present invention also provides a method for economically producing purified phosphorus-added silicon from silicon containing aluminum. An n-type solar cell silicon containing aluminum having a mass concentration of 0.001 to 1.0 ppm and phosphorus of 0.0011 to 1.1 ppm and having a phosphorus / aluminum mass concentration ratio of 1.1 or more is provided. Further, aluminum, phosphorus, and silicon may be obtained by heating and melting silicon containing aluminum to obtain a melt, and adding phosphorus to the obtained melt, or adding phosphorus to silicon containing aluminum to obtain a mixture, and heating and melting the obtained mixture to obtain aluminum, phosphorus and silicon. After the molten mixture containing is prepared, the manufacturing method of the phosphorus addition silicone which solidifies the said molten mixture under the temperature gradient of one direction in the mold is provided. |
