abstract |
The reflective film is configured to selectively reflect light by constructive or destructive interference and includes inner layers extending from the first zone to the second zone of the film. The inner layers include a second set of layers made of a second material different from the first set of layers made of a first material. Both the first and second layer sets have birefringence in the first zone, but at least some of these layers have reduced birefringence in the second zone. The reduced birefringence produces a second reflective property in the second zone that is different from the first reflective property in the first zone, which difference is not substantially due to the thickness difference between the first zone and the second zone. The film may also include an absorbent to aid in film making or processing. Related methods and articles are also disclosed. |
